My understanding is that you don't 'own' downloaded music files, you have effectively licensed a copy for your own use. I doubt they can be 'traded'.
Physical media is different in that you own the disc and can sell it, but you still only have a license for the music on it - so you can sell the disc but you can't keep a copy of the music.
