Thanks to all. I bought a Parasound P7 and am very impressed with it. There are several areas of very clear improvement (which we audio-obsessives do not really need of course).

The P7 can be adjusted for R_L and F_B balance but I am used to adjusting multichannel balance with a signal in each speaker that I can tweak using a RS microphone/meter at the listening position.

Know of a test recording that has that?
