This is for me the main problem with SACD's most of the modern peformances
are not the best, some are great like the Pentatone reissues from the 70's
but in general I find them lacking.
Some may not like the 50's and 60's SACD re-issues sonics but in general the performances are much better than modern SACD recordings.
Obviously they are exceptions. If sound quality is your priority then sure
some of the modern SACD are superb. But one always compares with the best
and in general the 50's/60's where the high point for great music, and it can be classical, jazz or even pop. This is purely my own opinion that I have formed over the last few years and 200 SACD's later.
