That one is able to recognize a good recording when we hear one.
I know lots of audiophiles that have pretty good sounding system and yet are not attending as many live concerts as I do.
I mentioned the other day the fact that here at the College of music
the many piano practicing rooms all have grand pianos yet not one sounds the same.
TO me a reference should be a constant.
Venues are all different thus not constant.
I know which of my CD's or SACD's sound good to me and these are my constant references.
Anyway this is the way I see it!! in other words a personal point of view.
And as you know in my case multi channels is not possible and on top of that SACD's are maybe 20% max of my music purchases, I could not possibly envisaged to only buy SACD's, there is so much good music to listen to.
