RE: Rich's Sony 5400 fix

Thanks for the supportive post, yes, Sony USA really sucks, a real embarrasment to Sony Japan.

Actually, I bought the 5400 so I could stay in the "SACD game", as I knew I would have to sell something, and if I sold the SCD-1, I could feel "less guilty" for keeping a less expensive player and use the remaining funds for family needs.

I already sold my Edge NL12.1 amp that I really loved, but needed the $$...
I was able to replace it with a beautiful condition (early 1960's)Harmon Kardon Citation I tube pre-amp and matching Citation II tube amp that have very few hours and original tubes that are about 95%..also came with all documentation, schematics, owners manuals, service manuals etc, all purchased from the original owner.

I'm hoping what may at first look like a "down-grade" may actually be more of a "side-step" after I upgrade both the Citations with the kits I have already purchaced.

Who knows, something may happen in the near future and I won't have to sell the SCD-1 and I can hang on to it for a future full upgrade..

Again, thanks for your post...

It's all about the music!
