Sure, just switch the player to the 2 channel mode. That's all that has to be done. How successful the two channel will sound may depend on how ones system is set up. In my case my system was originally optimized for two channel playback. When I added multi-channel I in no way disturbed optimal two channel playback. So, two-channel sounds like it always has.
By the way, in this configuration with the remote control it is simple to make on-the-fly comparisons between the two channel and multi-channel content. It is rare that the two channel content will "win" such a direct shoot-out, especially with classical music. But if it (two-channel) does win simply leave the player in the two channel mode.
