RE: Best label for sound quality on classical SACDs?

I like your starting point as to labels. I would add Channel Classics and Ondine to the list. Ondine is done by Polyhymnia, which also does RCO live. There is also Tudor, which seems to do less monkeying with the sound during mastering. There are also a few releases from Mariinski. Arts has also been quite good, as has the BSO label. I think the newer Pentatone recordings can be quite good, though I have not heard all of them. Yes, I have been pleased with RCA's and the few new Sony's. The Stile Antico series on Harmonia Mundi are quite excellent, while their others have been more average+.

Among the baddies, LSO Live is a tragedy, because of all their output. CSO Resound is another dud. Exton varies all over the map. These are labels I would not buy again, unless there were a compelling review.

So, I think we are generally in agreement, with a few exceptions. All my listening is in Mch, by the way.
