I tend to drink isotonic/sports drinks when I go for long rides - I find them quite good and if buy in bulk quite cheap (almost as cheap as home-brew recipes). For example, Gatorade in bulk powder form is around A80c per litre (around 50円???)

I was quite amazed when I visited Japan that automated vending machines (自動販売機) are everywhere ... Maybe only in "tourist" areas? I got addicted to the ones dispensing hot coffee and vitamin water :-)

Someone told me some of the roadside ones sell "interesting" stuff such as "used" panties (supposedly have been worn by schoolgirls for guys to smell) or adult manga, but I didn't see any of them - maybe I didn't venture too far off the beaten path.
