I own a Sony SCD-1 now. It sounds great on SACD (assuming the disc is well recorded to begin with). I don't own many SACDs (maybe 20), nor do I expect to buy many more. So although I've always been happy with its sound on redbook CDs, too, I often wonder if there's better to be had in this area for less money.I suppose it's possible that you could find an 8260 that does not have reliability issues--perhaps in a later model--but, as I said earlier, if you search the subject you'll find many frustrated owners.
