New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

your guess is as good as anyones

If there was a consensus of which OOP SACDs were going to become valuable, the price would already be up in anticipation. Thus, Blues in Orbit and Stevie Ray Vaughan are already selling for collector's prices.

Which ones will sell for those prices in the future? This is a function of rarity and demand. Many SACDs were pressed in limited quantities. However, these are worth nothing unless people want to buy them. Maybe people will want the old Water Lily Acoustics SACDs. Or maybe they won't.

My own guess would be the big names, the rock groups that sell to people who are completists- Rolling Stones and Dylan are the big names, also maybe Police and Peter Gabriel, Elton John, etc. But I think there are far better investments out there than gambling on the potential appreciation of SACDs.
