Thank you Charles...I was actually using the remote when fast forwarding. I love the C5XE and notice two things:
1) The remote really sucks ergonomically and not aesthetically.So many times when I wanted to skip a track but end up running the song at high speed instead of skipping to a next track. Ditto when trying to repeat the whole disk, sometimes its a hit or miss.
2) The C5XE is very power cord dependant. I have a Nordost Valhalla and Nordost Brahma. Using the Valhalla, sounds is not full and seems dry. Changed to Brahma and got back the fullness in sound. Added bonus, no more exaggeration (or at least a lot less of it) of the sibilant S sound in female voices.
