Gold color

Yes, most (maybe all) hybrids appear to have a golden hue. However, this is not caused by gold sputtering on the CD layer - that's what a MFSL or DCC Gold CD uses. The CD layer on a hybrid has normal aluminium sputtering.

The golden hue is caused by the semi-transmissive (DSD) layer. I believe this is caused by the silicon in that layer, although I am not completely sure.

As far as I know, no gold is used to make hybrids.
