I have been pondering upgrades to my stock machine for years now. I'm not in a rush. The factor that would motivate me into doing any mods would be a concurrent repair issue.I have been closely following the mods by Richard Kern, Vacuum State, and Allen Wright. Now, along comes The Upgrade Company and David Schultz.
I would like to know what Mr. Schultz's work entails that suddenly makes all other work done by the other modifiers mentioned above obsolete. This especially applies to work done on a Sony SCD-1.
Supposedly, the modifiers are now divided into two camps: to superclock, or not to superclock (Schultz). I'm all about different sonic flavors, but Mr. Schultz goes farther than that by bashing superclocks.
