Not to defend Defender or anything, but it seems he/she clearly stated comments were based on experience and personal opinion only, so not sure what you mean by "extrapolating".I'll try and drop in one weekend to have a listen and also help you out with the E-MU. Similarly, you are welcome to come to my place for a listen.
PS - I think I may have found a way to "rip" SA-CDs digitally. I'll let you know next week whether I'm successful or not. It's not a DSD rip though, it decimates to PCM 88.2/24 (but this is what I want since I have no DSD playback equipment other than my SA-CD player).
