Re: Marantz Sa15S1 Red Book Cd playback disappointing

I bought the SA15 primarily for SACDs. My other CD player is a Meridian 508.24. Although the Meridian may not represent current state of the art it is still a pretty good player. When I first played CDs on the Marantz I too was disappointed with it's performance vs. the Meridian. However as it broke in it got much better (or I warmed up to it's sound). Although I have not done any extensive A/B comparisons between the two players I find them both to be very enjoyable with regular CDs. I may still slightly prefer the Meridian but I could be happy if the SA15 were my sole CD player.
