I have the earlier more expensive[Almost twice] Xindak with the brass chassis and 6922 tubes and have never had trouble reading hybrid disc's.I think the build quality is very good and the most important sounds better than any [[Stock]] Sony[Including SCD-1,XA777es 9000es etc.,Denon,Toshiba ever made.This statement can be confirmed with Dan Wright at Modwright.Dan did lite mods/tweaking to mine,didn't need much if anything.Teresa apparently got a lemon.JD
