Except for yachts and New York real estate, there is no money in selling to an elite. Just look at the two channel high end business model - selling to an aging demographic that steadily decreases in size. The smaller the market the higher per unit prices you have to charge and the higher prices you charge the more the market decreases. It's a death spiral!The money is in selling to great unwashed - just ask Walmart!! The problem is that it is easy to design a great reliable SACD player. It's much harder to manufacture it in bulk at very low per unit prices and keep build quality high - even with Chinese slave labor.
