New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

Is it just me, or .....?

It seems to me that the company that developed SACD can't seem to build a player that can reliably read the SACD layer on hybrid discs, which, to me, make more sense to purchase than straight SACD discs. I have both a CE775, and an NS500V, and neither will read the hybrids anymore. Actually, it's the third time out for the 775 (first two under warranty). I understand it has to do with the dual laser, which seems to be about as durable as a butterfly's wings. I've been reading in these forums about a plethora of problems with even ES players. So Sony shoots itself in the foot again? After my experiences with SACD, I think I'll pass, thank you very much! The improvment in sound isn't worth fighting with the players. It's kind of like having a Ferrari, but living where there are only dirt roads. Fabulous car, but can't use it.
