The whole band is in the right front, with left front and rears only ambient info. Thought maybe my player was the problem, but it's OK. The stereo mix is a little more balanced. Only way for me to like the multichannel mix is to run front channels mono.
Both the McBride disks (New York Time and West of Fifth) are the same mix. Music is great. Just can't believe they intended to mix it that way.
