Re: Is the SACD of Boston's first album terrible?

As I posted back in July 2001: "The Boston SACD pales in comparison to the original LP. The SACD doesn't have anywhere near the body, bass and punch found on my LP that I have owned since high school. The deficiencies are obvious to both audiophiles and non-audiophiles who have heard the comparison on my modest Rega planar 3/grado rig. I only bring this point up because the Boston SACD was the very first one I bought, and my initial impression of SACD was less than overwhelming. For a rock SACD, I would probably chose Jeff Beck's "Blow by Blow" to make an impression. I am also impressed with the sound on the new Terence Blanchard SACD, if you prefer jazz"
Wow...I can't believe it's been almost 6 years already.
The production on the Boston LP still sounds great to my ears. Sony botched the SACD.
