Main answer. the electronics that actually pass signal are already broken in so the motor assembly should really not need a break in..but watch the performance carefully.

Some people report that electronics that has not been used in a while will need a "re-settle-in" period. FWIW, take that with a little sugar..

Such a PITY that your original box is gone. My question:

How many new scratches did the unit accumulate in the process?

My ES777 has some nasty marks on it and yes, my original box was also "recycled" but this was before I bought it as I purchased second hand and relied on the words of the original owner how the "gouges" got there. (sad, not a good situation)
