Re: DVD-A verses Hybrid SACD compare? anyone IYOP

Howdy

I just bought a Denon DVD-3930CI universal player for playing DVD-As. Since I have an outstanding SACD surround system and thousands of SACDs it's not a fair comparison, but I am enjoying some or my DVD-As.

The authoring inconsistencies on DVD-A drive me nuts (I can just put in a SACD and get sound, no button presses at all. Who knows what it will take to get hi-res playing when you put in a DVD-A and why in the heck do some DVD-As disable next track or typing in a track number?)

When my collection of great DVD-As gets big enough I'll probably have the Denon modded to get better sound, but after running 24/7 for a couple of weeks it's not too bad.

I like that I can buy any (audio) disc out there and play it. But for the best sound in my system it's still SACD.
