I have heared the JLTi also in very different chains - unfortunately I can not agree with you or I have to assume that something is holding your KRELL SACD back.I was able to compare the JLTi with a TEAC DV 50 (which I assume is on par with the KRELL SACD Standard) however, there was a noticable gap (by a wide margin) between the two. Actually there is no way to compare these two players since the JLTi seems to completely lose the lower octaves of the frequency spectrum - I missed the sound fundament, PRAT and "breath of live" so to speak - and it is very easy to hear. You obviously hear it within the first 3 seconds on the right music.
