Sony did rebuild my player to about 98% of its condition prior to sending it for repair. In total I was without it for about 6 weeks. I wrote four letters, seven long emails, and spent several hours worth of my time on the phone with various people from Sony.My player was under warranty. That was the only reason I sent it to Sony in the first place. Your player is a couple of years out of warranty now. I agree with the other poster - take or send your player to an independent repair shop/technician. Don't waste your time with Sony's repair service.
