.....i have been listening to my vse 5+ modded scd-1 now for 1 month since the upgrade from the level 4 mod.bill thalmann did the mods for me as he had the level 4 mods before.interesting..during the time he actually had my player i had the oportunity to audition..for 2 weeks..the new cary sacd player.the cary was ,indeed, better then the scd-1 at its' previous level 4 vse mod.i was seriously considering purchasing the cary thinking the upgrade to the 5+ could not be as good......i am very glad i decided to wait as the 5+ mod to my scd-1 is..in my opinion..much better then the cary players' sound.more transparent..better detail ...better soundstage then the level 4 mods in sacd mode and better then the cary in its' sacd mode also.thanks bill and vse
