HowdyYep the bypasses are a lot cleaner and quieter. Before I added the Switchman to my system I used the two and six channel bypasses for my SCD-XA777ES and the 8 channel bypass for my FM receiver :) I only use my sub for the SACD 6th channel so I didn't have the problem you mention. Does the sub have the capability to take two speaker level inputs (like a REL)?
