Does it make these noises on both MC and non-MC discs - or only on MC discs?

I have the experience of MC discs creating this noise problem on some older extremely hot-rodded mchines that were never designed to play MC discs.

But If the noise is on both MC and non-MC discs - then I suggest you will have to try it through a different amplifier chain. Some amps/preamps are extremely sensitive to the ultrasonic noise output even by un-modifed players, and hence it's not a fault as such with your particular player.
