I guess I'm used to Elusive Disc and Music Direct. Yes, you pay retail, but you get outstanding service. Your credit card is only charged when the order is shipped, which generally occurs within 24 hours.I ordered multiple SACDs directly from Chesky's website over two weeks ago. They charged my credit card and sent me an acknowlegment of my order, but the order appears to have disappeared into cyberspace. I've sent two unanswered e-mails and have left an unreturned phone message. Amazingly, I may have to file a dispute with the credit card company if they continue dodging my calls and e-mails
Chesky makes great recordings and I will continue to buy them, but not directly from their company. Apparently, they have big problems with direct sales.
