I had my own little surprise when I was digging through the racks at my going-out-of-business Tower Records and I found there were more Can reissues out than the 8 I already knew about. It seems that everything, from beginning to end, is now out on SACD, that is the proper albums, not the compilation Cannibalism.The first 4 releases are absolute classics and I would also add in the later issued but earlier recorded Delay 1968. After that things get variable. I will say that I passed on all their later albums based on very mediocre reviews. But I have 10 good to great Can releases on SACD now.
This is a great way to reissue music. Rolling Stones, Dylan, Can. For a while it looked like complete back catalogs might be rolling out. Now it doesn't look much like that will happen anymore. It's a shame.
