From what I read somewhere else, the new transport is the thing that kept them from coming up with their new flagship for so many years (I believe the old one came out in 2000 or so). Linn also has their own transport so I am giving Accuphase the benefit of the doubt regarding originality.As for longevity, 6 years seems pretty long for coming up with a successor to a digital player to me. The old one seems pretty top notch to me during its whole life span. However, how much better the new one would be I would not know.
