You're in trouble now Chris Redmond

The trials and tribulations of our Chris Redmond are well documented in these pages so I won't go into that. This weekend I finally found some time to visit Alex P from APL to find out what's new and to listen to some tunes on his fantastic system.

As is customary during these visits I inquire after Chris' player. I mean, it has been there for close to two years and last time plants were growing out of the disc tray. This time it was a little different. I was surprised at Alex' reaction to my innocent inquiry. He was dodging it. Trying to change the subject. But I insisted. His shop was unususally organized and it looked like it had recently been cleaned. Finally he told me he had a break-in just the other week. A few guys forced his garage door...

Well, Chris is our internet buddy, so I said - "Hell, what can we do?" We did some surfing on Craigslist and lo and behold a guy was advertising a used SACD1000 over at Jeff's Pawn Audio just down the road, so we climbed in my car and got ourselves over there. And this is what we found...I mean EVEN HIS NAME STICKER WAS STILL ON THE MACHINE!!! Now only thing we have to do is find the money to buy it back. Hmmmm...

PS: I have been teasing Chris for a while now and this post is meant to be joke...just in case any one of you luminaries did not get that. The truth is:
1)Alex's shop never looks organized
2)There never was a break-in at APL
3)Chris' machine was still in the same spot as it has always been (in fact if you look at the picture, you can just see it to the left of the whisky glass)
4)There is no such thing as Jeff's Pawn Audio and if there is I apologize to Jeff who probably runs a solid and profitable business and would never ever do what I suggested above
5)Craigslist does exist and this post in no way means, or should be construed to mean, that Craigslist is implicated in pawning stolen goods
6)At no time plants have been anywhere near Alex' SACD players, and neither has anything else that can be seen sitting on top of the player in the picture. Players in Alex shop are in no danger.

Pfew...:-)
