I was highly dubious about the upgrade, but I had the opportunity to hear the original and upgraded models side by side on a variety of music. I was completely surprised by the inprovement it made. Before I had many LPs that I liked better than CDs but after the tables were turned. The player became much more musical sounding after the upgrade, especially in the high end, and it was very good to begin with.jsm
