"What shocks me about this mini-shootout (if one could call a half hour comparison of "Walk of Life" that) is how the same apparent 16/44.1k master (?) could get such a different (and better) treatment via DSD."Basically if the original tapes were well recorded, they deserve a hi-rez transfer to get as close to the original as possible. IMHO, that for me is what hi-rez is about. If the original is not as good as what a modern recording is capable of, then that is a problem for those that listen to the "sound quality" rather than the music itself.
