Redbook playback is excellent as is SACD. I'm amazed I haven't heard about this player from anywhere also. For the money I was very pleased. Sold my dac as I like the dac in the Sony better, and I've had many highly acclaimed dacs. Selling the dac paid for the entire machine with a side benefit of playing SACD. Also build quality seems to be very good. Echo Audio in Portland, OR I noticed is asking 350 for one. Curt, the owner, is a good person to deal with. If you buy new you do get the 5 year warranty though. I can't comment on any video as it's hardly used for that and I wouldn't know what to look for. All in all I'm pretty impressed with it for the price.
