Open interface for DSD, any progress in 2004, what to expect in 2005?

New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

I know, but I like to ask again, and what is a better time than at the end of the year!
Has there been any progress on the open interface for DSD in 2004?
I know that DSC, Accuphase have a proprietary implementation, and Onkyo, amongst other are providing i-Link outputs on their players. I wonder if there will be a day when we can connect, let's say a Sony SACD player to a DSC DAC?
When that happens I will start shopping.
