Note that determining absolute polarity is an issue with any given recorded music or audio gear, not just the SCD-1. And your cheater plug is a fix for lifting the ground (i.e., to isolate ground loops), not to invert polarity. The way to address polarity is to switch the leads (+ vs -) at the speakers or rear panel of the amp.
