About SACD/SBM/HDCD.
Don´t know what it is worth, but I have a bunch of Opus3 titles of various formats. It turned out for these records that the RB-SBM layer derived from DSD sounds better than the old HDCD pressings. This was played back via the same PMD100 equipped DAC.
The RB-SBM layer even outperformed the DSD layer when the SBM went to the external HDCD DAC and the DSD was played back via a budget SACD player. This says moreabout the hardware than the software of course, but still interesting to me.
Seems like the "new" SBM really works as Sony says.
