I bought the Sony universal remote RM-AV3100, and now use it for *all* my remote-controllable equipment (including the SCD-1) instead of the individual remotes. Keeping all those remotes in order was driving me crazy. This unit has been a life-saver--only problem is that it's too big to operate with one hand, but you get used to it. Also, the screen is a little dim.
There are cheaper remotes that might do the job, of course. Ask Sony, as Duilawyer recommends.
