Whether it's a shout-out or a series of articles, with a discussion afterwards amongst all the reviewers. In the latter case you prevent this turning into a 'Stereophile declares the Krups SACD Toaster as Modified by Henry Ford the WINNER' statements, plus subsequent feverish marketing initiatives by Henry Ford's boutique outfit. Plus not all modders have worldwide representation, so that needs to be taken into account - though I would think it can be presented as a 'state-of-the-art' thing.
Hope someone will take up the challenge. I think given the amount of modified machines and options out there, best bet is an internet magazine. More flexibility.
