Your suggestion would not yield a good sounding digital copy because a tape designed specifically for cutting vinyl masters would have been EQ'ed to phono RIAA standards which would not be necessary in digital. The answers to your three questions are1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Couldn't say since I don't plan to buy any of the Police SACDs. Check with other members.
