Sony is selling $5000 SCD-1s to audiophiles here in the US and has been selling $1500-$3000 CD players in the US for years. JVC, on the other hand, has never had any success in the US with audio components priced higher than $800, and has zero chance of selling a $5000 DVD-A player in the US.
