Before you move on let me suggest the Beyer Dynamic DT1350. I've been traveling more and more and I wanted something I could listen to in a hotel room or on a plane. I bought them because of their packability....they come in a nice compact case for traveling....and because they've received some really nice reviews. I admit I was pretty astounded by the quality from such a small package. Resolution and bottom end from something so small? My AKG702's are for sale! The only place where the AKG's outshine the Beyers' are space.
I also have a pair of ER4's...nice resolution, quick, no overhang...can't do the really low end impact like the DT1350's. I'm using comply tips with them and find them way more comfortable, but you do have to get them pretty far into your ear canals. I'm thinking about custom tips.
