People who need to keep their headphone listening truly silent (for the sake of housemates and/or nearby apartment occupants) may not want to use a subwoofer.

In such a case, one or more *tactile transducers* bolted onto the frame of the couch underneath the listener would be the only way to experience something even remotely akin to (ahem!) "viscerality".

And I've heard that "tactile transducers" work wonders for sufferers of chronic constipation. But of course, I cannot remember the last time I was chronically constipated....
