DAC power source question

I'm thinking of getting a USB powered DAC for my phone such as this Radius DAC:
http://www.radius.co.jp/products/rk-lch61/
which has no battery and takes its power off the phone. However, for longer rides, I'm sure it will drain my phone eventually. I'm thinking, if I use a hub such as this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Hittime-Adapter-Extension-Smartphone-Tablet/dp/B00FGKXY9S
and then attach a USB battery alongside, would it work (charging the phone while using the DAC or acting as a power source for the DAC)?
