The Sha-Gold was in my estimation the best headphone amp I have owned. It was also stellar, in my opinion again, when used as a preamplifier. I'm thinking about selling my Vincent headphone amp and looking for a Sha-Gold. With the "Photentiometer" and weird "unmute" feature necessitated by a remote control it was a bit quirky. I guess my question is should I consider the aged Sha-Gold or newer stuff from Benchmark, Musical Fideity, Chinese stuff, etc. Headphones are Sennheiser HD-580.
