No serial numbers on Denon headphones?

Just got a pair of D7000's and noticed the label on the back that says 'serial number' is blacked out.

I called Denon in New Jersey and they said their cans didn't have serial numbers.

Interesting, I could have sworn my D5000's from a few years ago did, but maybe not.
