...in a good way.My Denon D2000s showed up today and since I've read they require break-in, I've got them running with a particularly dynamic CD and will wait 2 days before I listen to them.
I like the way they feel, both in terms of solidity of build and comfort, although I only had them on for a minute. I do wish the cable only went to one ear-cup, but I'm sure I'll get used to that.
So, why am I in trouble? Because my headphones (Audio Technica ATH AD-700 and Fournier HTA-1 with RFT tubes) sound so much better than my speakers that I am in need of a large upgrade there. 2012 was going to be the year I didn't change any gear and here we are less than one week into the year and I'm speaker shopping already.
It took quite a while for the ATs to break-in and changing the tubes in the amp made a big difference. I am really liking the sound ...in a big way. I was up until 2:00 in the morning listening last night ...I couldn't stop ...it was just too much damn fun.
Well, there are worse problems to have.
I'll check back next week with my thoughts on the Denons. If they sound better than the ATs I'm in big trouble. Good trouble. But trouble.
Dean.
