And that little $99 amp is much better than its asking price, it is not as good as Schiit's own Lyr 2.

I have been using a Magni 3 in my work system for a two months now. Every work day I listen while I do my job.

I gave it time but I was not satisfied with the sound quality. Its not bad but not great either.

I have the following work system:

1) Toshiba 17" Laptop with 6.5TB of internal and external storage.
2) Pangea Silver USB cabling
3) Schiit Wyrd USB signal cleaner
4) Schiit Modi Multibit DAC
5) Schiit Loki Tone Controls
6) All analog ICs are 0.5m Kimber Hero w/WBT connectors
7) Focal Clear or HiFi Man HE-400S headphones

I also have a Schiit Lyr 2 amp w/NOS Philips 7DJ8 tubes downstairs on my main system.

I just pulled the Magni 3 and inserted my Lyr 2 in its place...no contest. There is an immediate increase in sound quality with greater resolution and coherence of the whole sonic picture.

The bottom line is that the Magni 3 is very good for the money but its still a $99 amp.
