First, the AKGs are much lower impedance than HD headphones, and thus harder to drive for an OTL.

As for Mikhail....I doubt it. He also used to hang out on EBay, but his tubes were not that high quality. I've forgotten his EBay name. Supralover, I think, or something like that. The Supra, by the way, was a timebomb in most (all) cases. There were many discussions about its shortcomings, some by Kevin Gilmore.
