The Audio Syndrome, a fun audiophile club with members in the New York City and Long Island area are having their next meeting on Friday, May 24th, 8 PM at Joe M's home in Rosedale, NY. This meeting, featuring a "one of a kind" Custom Omega Mikro system, will be informative and fun. Anyone interested in attending, please contact me via E-mail.Past club meetings in 2002 included;
April 2002 - Vinyl Fest & tubes at Charlie G's home in Lindenhurst, NY. Featuring his VPI Aries with wood Grado cartridge & Cary phone pre-amp, VTL & CJ amps, as well as other tube gear.March 2002 - Bedford Studios in Brooklyn, NY with hosts Andy Tommasi (Recording Engineer / Owner) and Ted Goodwin (Mastering Engineer & guitarist). We compared live acoustic guitar with both the analog recording (2", 30ips tape) and digital recording (ProTools software) playback as well as numerous discussions about the recording industry.
February 2002 - Tubes versus Transistors in Andy D's home in East Meadow, NY. Compared a variety of tube and transistor components (amps & pre-amps) hooked to Alon IV speakers.
January 2002 - Manufacturer (Quantum Products Bill Sterihout) and Magazine (The Absolute Sound's Scot Markwell) demonstration of Quantum's products (Symphony, etc.) as well as demonstaration of some recently reviewed TAS equipment (Alon ribbon speakers & a ? push-pull 300B amp).
